Statement

For Irina Lisky, art is a form of sport — never standing still, never fearing new heights, always seeing the goal and moving toward it. She shares every significant moment of her life with art: the joys, the hardships, the expectations. Each painting is like a long-distance race where your only real opponent is the best version of yourself. Through her work, she expresses her worldview and the depth of her experience in realistic painting.

Irina Lisky (Irina Zelenina) grew up in a small Russian village. From an early age, she dreamed of becoming an artist and absorbed every piece of art knowledge she could find around her, passionately studying everything from the classical Renaissance to Surrealism and Abstract Art.In 2019, after successfully graduating from a classical art academy, she moved to Berlin to pursue new artistic paths and bring her ideas to life. She became a finalist of Portrait Now in Denmark and the Almenara Art Prize, held solo exhibitions in Berlin and Serbia, and participated in shows in London, the USA, and Germany. After the birth of her daughter, Irina adopted the name Irina Lisky and shifted her focus toward sharing her art through social media. In 2024, her popularity grew dramatically after posting the creation process of her painting Movement, which reached 85.7 million views and more than 5,000 comments. This breakthrough sparked significant interest in her work and led to collaborations with major brands and media, including Netflix, MySign, and others.

The act of painting over her works and using a special protective film that keeps the portrait unchanged reflects her deep contemplation of time as both a physiological and ontological phenomenon. The transformation of personality through time is tied to existential questions that the artist explores in her paintings.
